SWOWS (Semantic Web Open datatafloW System) is a set of tools for the deployment of Web applications based on Semantic Web technologies (so everything is treated as RDF).
Applications are built with a pipeline RDF-based language, using few basic operators that compose single RDF graphs or datasets to create new graphs or datasets. RDF graphs can be both of static and dynamic content. The language provides stateless operators as well as stateful ones, so that interactive applications can be built.
All the operators are side-effects free and their behavior is defined through SPARQL queries.
The system is at the moment composed by two modules:
- a web-based editor to design the pipelines
- an engine that run the pipelines as interactive web applications
The two modules are independent and can run on different machines.
